I don’t know if you all are like me, but I am not a makeup expert. I know the basics, and I definitely have my go-to products, but sometimes I just want to feel extra cute, ya know? Especially when it’s a special occasion—or, hello, a little mother-daughter day.
For our Mother’s Day Celebration this year, my mom and I are planning to do just that – she’s pretty awesome, so I love to celebrate with her (and she’s whooped cancer twice)! I booked us brunch at Melina (you should check out their IG—the food is amazing), and a little glam session beforehand. Having a Sephora in the neighborhood at Pike & Rose made planning easy.
I’ve been using Sephora’s makeup services since maybe 2017, back in my mid-20s and still trying to figure out makeup. It’s super easy to book online, and it’s pretty affordable —$60 for a full-face glam or $30 for a partial “beat.” You can take a makeup lesson there, which I’ve never done but would like to!

When we arrived the makeup artists ask what kind of look we’re going for—natural glam, bold, date night, etc. My mom’s leaning toward a soft, dewy glow, and I’m definitely going bold with a fun lip and a little lash drama. We’ll be in the chairs for about 45 minutes, chatting, getting a few tips, and just soaking up the self-care.
The Second Best Part? Brunch After.
After we’re all glammed up, we’ll head to brunch feeling G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S (Fergie voice). Because let’s be honest—there’s something about having your makeup done that just makes you feel like that girl. And doing it with my mom? I already know it’s going to be the highlight of the weekend.
If you’re looking for a fun way to bond with your mom—or just want to feel your best for a night out or a special event—this is such an easy (and fun!) way to make it happen.

P.S. I love when someone just tells me how to do something so I have to think tooo much. Here’s how you book and most Sephora’s offer this service.
