GOOD DAY, SUNSHINE!

Can you believe summer is already upon us? I’ll be spending more time outdoors being active and soaking up all the extra daylight.

Here is how I’ll be preparing for the season.

OOTD Cleanup

Sydney – Owner of Flex All Day

I recently met Sydney, the owner of Flex All Day, and I asked her, “what are the girls wearing this summer?” and she told me all about the comeback of windbreakers – although they’re cropped this time around versus when I was a teen, and they also have more dramatic sleeves! – biker shorts with and without pockets and everyone’s best summer trend—bright colors.

I picked up the Parachute Jacket by Onzie, pocketed biker shorts from Beyond Yoga (currently one of my favorite brands to wear for teaching and practicing yoga), and ribbed v-waisted biker shorts from Year of Ours. I’ll be going back for the Bala Bangles and Goodr Sunglasses. What’s better than a little bit of strength training and no-slip grip shades to add to your summertime accessories.

Skin Cleanup

M-61 Bluemercury

I plan on spending a lot of time outdoors this summer and my fitness recovery plan includes skincare. A great sunscreen is always a must. I asked the experts who recommended the M-61 line. I always like a few options depending on my outdoor activity.

Lesson learned! Don’t make the same mistake I have. Protect your lips from sun damage by always keeping a Hydroboost Lip Treatment on hand.

I’m also adding a new post-sun routine with Magnolia, Jasmine, and Lily Healing Emulsion from Chantecaille to soothe and hydrate my skin. I’m considering it my post-workout spa treatment. Just what you need after a day out on the water or hiking along the C&O Canal.

Mood Cleanup

Icecream? The answer is always YES! And the best place for a scoop is Sarah’s Handmade Ice Cream and Treats. They have so many flavors to choose from, and there’s ample outdoor seating if you want to enjoy some ice cream outdoors with friends and family.

Soul Cleanup

There’s a yoga tradition of practicing 108 Sun Salutations to mark the season. You can practice it on your own, or practice it with other yogis online or in person!
