HIKE MORE, WORRY LESS

The weather has been absolutely perfect so I decided to hit the DMV trails. What better way to get some exercise and explore? This area has so many options when it comes to hiking and viewing some local waterfalls, which is reason enough to start planning your next hiking adventure. First things first, packing the perfect backpack.

Whether you’re setting off on a day hike or an overnight adventure, these are my go-to recommendations!

HIKING MUST-HAVES :

Lightweight Water Resistant Backpack

Having a comfortable backpack is a huge asset when on the trails. By storing your items on your back, you’re able to focus on putting one foot in front of the other.

Gregory Maya 16 Pack, $99.95, REI

Water and Fresh Snacks

Keeping snacks in your backpack is essential for sustaining energy during the hike. No one likes that feeling of hunger on the trail!

Crisp Crunchy Crisps, $2.29 Trader Joes

Gear

The goal is to be completely comfortable on your hike. Lightweight shorts and breathable tanks are always the best choices.

Sculpt Tank Top, $58, Lululemon

Align Short 6″, $58-$68, Lululemon

Hiking Shoes

The hiking shoes or boots will make or break your hike. Make sure you have comfortable shoes with good traction.

Danner Trail 2650 Full-Grain Hiking Shoes, $159.95, REI

Speaker or Headphones

An absolute must for me! It’s always a party on the trails!

Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker, $99.99, Target

Sunscreen and Insect Repellant

It’s important to protect your skin and keep the bugs away.

Black Girl Sunscreen Broad Spectrum, $15.99, Target

There are so many things to see on the trails. Take a look at what I came across.
