IT’S TEATIME

Celebrate your special bride-to-be with something a little fancy and a bit intimate. I have gathered a few great ideas to host the perfect tea party!

If you are a vintage collector like me, this idea works perfectly. The special occasion you’ve been waiting for has arrived—bring out the fancy table settings and maybe even your best hat! Paired with my favorite sweets and teas, this makes for the perfect afternoon party.

WHAT YOU NEED FROM START TO FINISH:

Refreshing Tea (peach green tea is my FAVE)
Sugar cubes
Tea set (vintage finds)
Sweet treats
Table runner (I recommend a beautiful scarf)
Flowers
Cake stand

Tablescape:

Creating the tablescape is my favorite part. Keep it simple and have fun. I prefer mismatched floral vintage china that I’ve collected over the years. If you are just starting your collection, try William Sonoma’s Famille Rose teacup set along with the Botanica teapot from Anthropologie. Personally, I love keeping it eclectic! If you’re more into the matchy-matchy, start with the bride’s favorite color, and build from there. Cake stands filled with treats are a great addition and provide height to the table.

Decoration:

Spring for seasonal flowers, or choose something from the bride’s bouquet, for a personalized touch. Layering them along with other hints of the season such as butterflies, bird nests, or other greenery is a great way to celebrate the occasion, and customize your look. These small details turn up the fancy and will WOW your guests (and, the guest of honor!)!

Menu :

I love throwing a party with no cooking required. If you are hosting a traditional afternoon tea party, lean towards finger sandwiches, scones, cake, and tea. For something a bit more trendy, you can get creative with d-i-y charcuterie boards and wine or do a sweets-themed tea party as I did. I chose cookies, cakes, and pastries from Sunday Morning Bakehouse. I also added a simple white cake that I jazzed it up with eye-catching paper butterflies to go with my spring theme.

Whether you bring the garden indoors or host al fresco, an afternoon tea party is a sweet way to honor the bride in your life. No need to limit your special occasion tea party for the soon-to-be missus. There are many reasons to plan a tea party. From baby showers to bachelorette parties, anything that calls for a cute outfit, and yummy cake is reason enough!
