National Mimosa Day is a holiday I can get behind. Celebrated annually on May 16, (yes, annually!) it’s the perfect excuse to grab a friend or two for brunch and enjoy the beautiful al fresco dining weather the DMV enjoys this time of year. While I’m partial to the traditional mimosa made with orange juice, many restaurants serve up twists on the original with cranberry, grapefruit, or pomegranate juice. Regardless of your mimosa preference, I’ve got you covered with the perfect place to celebrate National Mimosa Day this year: Pinstripes North Bethesda.

How do I know it’s the perfect place to celebrate? I take these mimosas very seriously and scouted out Pinstripes a few weekends ago with my sister and cousin to ensure their mimosas had the perfect bubbly to juice ratio. Ahead of our visit, I grabbed us a reservation online for their beautiful rooftop patio. Pinstripes also have bowling lanes and bocce courts available for reservation if you’re looking for a fun activity to do while enjoying great food and drink. Our group was focused on enjoying as much brunch as possible this go-around, but we’re already planning that our next trip to Pinstripes will include a little friendly competition.

The Pinstripes rooftop patio was an amazing place to spend a warm spring afternoon. We had a table in the sun and were able to soak up the beautiful views it offered. If you go on a warmer day, there are plenty of umbrellas to provide shade; the day we went was a bit cooler, so they had a few heaters around that kept us at the perfect temperature.

We started off our brunch by ordering the bottomless mimosas. At Pinstripes, they offer orange, cranberry, and grapefruit juice mimosas and during your two-hour time limit to enjoy, you can rotate between the juices as you please. To top things off, the bottomless mimosas are a great deal at $18 a person and Pinstripes did a great job of making sure our glasses were never empty.

We then ordered a huge spread of brunch food for the table to pair with our mimosas. Pinstripes has something for everyone on the menu. We split some avocado toast, bacon, and a prosciutto + fig flatbread to start, and then there were brunch burgers and crispy chicken sandwiches to be had by all. We capped our meal off by splitting the strawberry cheesecake—and finishing our carafes of mimosas, obviously.

So whether you’re looking to sneak out of the office a little bit early on May 16, a Friday this year, for National Mimosa Day, or keep the celebrations going and mimosas flowing into the weekend Pinstripes is the perfect place to raise your glass to the best brunch cocktail there is. Cheers!
