Show Your Bridesmaids and Groomsmen Some Extra Love

You’ve gotten your proposal—now it’s time for you to propose to your bridesmaids or groomsmen! While you can’t imagine not having your bestie serve as your MOH, keep in mind that being part of a wedding party is a large commitment, and you’ll want your friends to feel appreciated from day one! Now, we’re not saying to bribe them with fabulous gifts or anything…but at the same time, no one’s ever been opposed to a well-put-together goodie basket! We’re sharing our go-to ideas for bridesmaid and groomsman proposal baskets that are sure to charm your loved ones.

For the ‘Maids

Treat your main girls to a “Will you be my bridesmaid?” basket that doubles as a self-care kit. Pick up a sizable cosmetic bag that zips shut (we love this silver glittery option from TJ Maxx) and fill it with some of your and your ladies’ favorite things. Start by picking out the perfect card and writing a thoughtful message inside — this one from the Paper Source is sure to become a keepsake. Then, go all in with the pampering theme. Paper Source is a great place to start, offering plenty of cute giftables, like the mini box of hairpins shown here. They’re great for everyday use and will come in handy during the hair and makeup portion of your wedding day!

Then, at Target, we snagged an eye mask, lip mask, and a tube of bright pink lip balm, all little luxuries that will make her day a bit sweeter. At Bluemercury, we picked up some under-eye depuffing patches as well as some brown sugar body scrub. No pampering kit is complete without a sweet treat or two, and we like the idea of grabbing a few packages of Lindor chocolates and divvying them up among your girls. At TJ Maxx, we sourced a super cute picture frame (print out a pic of you and each friend), a pack of bubblegum (an essential!), and a Pixi mud mask.

These items are perfect for a bridesmaid basket since they’re aesthetically pleasing and fun but useful and, for the most part, consumable. Not everyone has room for more “stuff” in their house, but most people will get plenty of use out of special beauty products and self-care items.

If you need to mail your bridesmaid proposal kit, don’t fret – everything should fit neatly inside of the cosmetic bag, which you can then place inside a cardboard box. So easy!

For the Men

Let’s not forget about the guys—it’s important to show your prospective groomsmen plenty of love as you ask them to stand by your side.

As we did for the ladies, we opted for a nontraditional box or paper bag and went the reusable route here, too. This oversized fabric basket from TJ Maxx was less than $10, if you can believe it! It can be repurposed in his bathroom, kitchen, home office, or wherever else he could use some extra storage.

Inside the basket, we placed a few treats—both edible and otherwise, that will appeal to a range of guys. First, we stopped at Bluemercury for a Kiehl’s lip balm (men deserve little luxuries, too!). We then picked up a copy of Esquire magazine at Barnes and Noble and paired it with some snacks that he can enjoy while reading. At Target, we found a cylinder-shaped tin of hot cheese balls, and at the Paper Source, we picked up a small box of bourbon-flavored gummy bears. We also came across a face mask for men called the “Bro Mask” — he can throw it on as he unwinds in front of the TV.

Since everyone deserves some chill time during the work day, we also incorporated a mini desktop soccer game from TJ Maxx. We found a large box of bonbons there as well, which helped to fill the rest of the box.

Thoughtful and versatile, a groomsman proposal box like this one is sure to be a winner with the entire crew!
