Spring break is on the horizon, and I’m excited to spend a week at the beach enjoying some sun and taking a much-needed email hiatus! Maybe this is a bit strange, but I’ve always enjoyed packing for trips ahead of time—I find that it helps get me extra excited for the vacation days to come and ensures that I won’t leave anything critical behind.
If you need a little inspiration as you pack for your own spring getaway, I’ve got you covered. Keep reading for a look at my spring break carry-on essentials, which I absolutely cannot wait to bust out later this month.
First up in my carry on bag is Greenwich Park, a buzzworthy thriller that will be perfect to read as I kick back on the beach with a cool beverage in hand. I’m a pretty avid reader year-round, but vacation is when I really get my pages in, and I love to hit Barnes & Noble, and treat myself to a new title before heading out of town.
Next up is a fun, rainbow-striped top that I cannot wait to bust out at least a couple of times on this trip. It’s from Marine Layer, a new (to me) store with tons of stylish yet laid-back clothing items that are perfect for a warm-weather jaunt. This top will of course look cute with shorts and jeans, but also over my bathing suit top for a little extra coverage on the beach. It’s a win-win!
You can also find a bottle of Casamigos margarita mix in my bag. Casamigos Tequila is a go-to bottle on my bar cart at home, and when I spotted this mix at Williams Sonoma, I knew right away that I had to try it. As much as I enjoy making margs from scratch, I’m excited that this recipe is pretty effort-free: Simply combine a bit of the mix with tequila and serve!
Because I’m all about being prepared, I threw a set of Rescue patches from Anthropologie into my bag in the event of any hangovers. I’d hate to waste one of my precious days off feeling icky in bed, and the fact that these are literally designed for recovery after a night out makes them seem pretty promising.
Just because I’m keeping it nice and casual at the beach doesn’t mean that I don’t want to look cute and somewhat put together when I’m out grabbing dinner in town. I instantly feel a bit more polished when I’m wearing lip gloss, and I thought that a watermelon-flavored tube would be fun as we inch closer to summer. I also picked up a moisturizing lip balm to keep by my nightstand. Both are from Anthropologie, which is chock full of excellent beauty products! I also swung by Bluemercury and grabbed some tanning drops to help liven up my very fair skin. Hey, anything to look ultra fab in my spring break Instas!
While at TJMaxx, I snagged a mesh bag that I thought would be great for holding wet bathing suits or other essentials like sunscreen, sunglasses, shampoo, and hand sanitizer (the latter two items I found at TJ also!). The bag is versatile and sizable enough that I know it’ll come in handy no matter what I’m up to over the course of the week. Now let spring break begin!
While you’re on the go, take a listen to these April Anthems to get you into the spring mood!
